Neighborhood Swim Night

If you know me, you know I make very few exceptions to let my girls stay up past bedtime, but our ward rented out the pool, and ice cream sandwiches were on the menu, so....totally worth it. 😋

It didn't start until 8 (bedtime normally 7/7:30), but we got there right on time and the girls couldn't get their clothes off fast enough.

We had to wait until all the lifeguards were at their stations, which was pretty unbearable for the girls.

But the water finally came on and it was time to hop in!

The girls wanted to go down the big slide, so Ryan took Lucy down and then caught Norah at the bottom. She flipped around toward the bottom and came down backwards.

We spent the rest of the time in the shallow end of the main pool and Jane was loving it. She didn't have floaties like the girls, so she just walked around, trying so hard to keep her balance. It was hilarious watching her, and she loved squatting a little and getting mouthfuls of water, then laughing hysterically.

Norah and Lucy still love their floaties and refuse any help at all, even if they are struggling to keep their head above the water.

It was such a beautiful night and it was fun seeing friends!

They passed out ice cream sandwiches, and even though it was a bit windy, and really cold, we hopped out to eat.

Jane was taking forever to eat her sandwich, so I kept sneaking bites so we could get back in the water.

It was a great night, and the girls have brought it up several times. "Remember that one time we went to the pool? and I went down the slide?" I'm so glad we have been making fun memories this Summer.
